6’x10’x15’ A Contemplative Space Design For A Person With Respect to Human Scale.

6’x10’x15’- A contemplative space design for a person where the person can stand, sit and lie down.

CONCEPT
My concept was for a contemplative space where the user will get a physical and visual connection from nature.

CHALLENGES

Design a contemplative space within the available small area was quite interesting. My first iteration was very simple and  basic. But from this I understood that there are opportunities to sit or stand or lie on the edges of the wall. If I want to create different feeling for each and every activity, I have to go for the levels.

In my second iteration I introduced settings on either side of wall and an accessible roof from the first floor which will give the user an opportunity to sit in an open area. And, by this I was pursuing one of my concept of connection to the nature. But, it was very symmetrical in nature and it was not helping me to design separate feelings inside the structure.
In third iteration I was trying to manipulated the spaces and I came up with my third design where I took out one of the inside seating spaces to give a separate feeling towards the user.

The Balance in the Nature

The Balance in the Nature
Water color , graphite on white paper.

The Balance in the Nature refers to the theory that ecological systems are usually in a stable equilibrium, which is to say that a small change in some particular parameter will be a big change in nature just like this mural, If you take out one image from this frame the balance of this mural will be broken.
